I have spoken to a Pipex representative! That in itself is a major achievement believe me. I telephoned regarding the letter I received about an outstanding balance.

I do not owe the money by the way. The young lady I spoke to was both friendly, professional and pleasant. I explained the ongoing situation and she has promised to rectify the problems for me personally. I will just have to wait and see.

How do I get the stupid people that work for Pipex Internet to understand November 24, 2006

If you have read my previous posts regarding Pipex Broadband you will be aware of the complete and utter incompetence of the company and staff. After withdrawing money from my bank account to which they had no entitlement, I had to fight to make them realise I was no longer a customer of Pipex.

You see, I left Pipex in July 2006 and moved to another internet company. Pipex provided me with the relevant MAC or migrate away code and the transition went very smoothly. I have now been with my new internet provider (bethere) for five months and am very happy indeed with the level of service received.

Less can be said with regard to Pipex. They are a bunch of complete incompetent, disorganised fools who obviously have no structure in place to allow one department to communicate with the others. Customer services are a complete waste of time with emails going unanswered and phone calls being automatically put on hold before being automatically disconnected.

It took a couiple of months or more before I finally sorted out the problem of being charged for a service I no longer subscribe to. I even received a final refund of £10.94 from Pipex which was paid very ungraciously into my bank account without even an explanatory email or letter of apology for the misunderstanding.

I thought I had seen the last of Pipex broadband and the band of fools that muddle from day to day for them claiming money to which they are not entitled. Feelings of joy swept over me as I finally felt free from the harassment encountered from them.

And then, yesterday, a letter arrived from Pipex and it read as follows:

quote

Dear Sir/Madam

We have recently received a credit card chargeback claim on your account for £33.99 for a card payment taken on 17/09/06.

Please be aware that the above amount has now been placed back onto your account as an outstanding balance which will remain outstanding until the payment is received.

To help us process your claim in a fast & efficient way please contact us between the hours of 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday on 01782 605475. Our address is Pipex Internet Ltd, PO Box 273, Welwyn Garden City, Herts, AL7 1YA. Failure to contact us may result in restriction of your service.

Yours Sincerely

Credit Control Administration

Pipex Internet Ltd

There is not even a damned name on the letter! Not even a printed signature. Just a nasty letter which is obviously trying to imply that you will be in trouble if you do not pay up.

I do not have a Pipex Internet account.

I have not had one since July 7th 2006.

Why do these people keep harassing me?

Why are these people so stupid and incompetent ?

Can anyone suggest a surefire way to reach someone within the Pipex organisation (ha) who can resolve this farce.

I have tried countless times to email and telephone them without success. I have sent letters by recorded delivery to which I receive no answer.

What am I supposed to do?

Please can anyone help me!

Pipex Broadband Farewell! November 11, 2006

At last it seems my experience with Pipex broadband is over! It has taken since July to resolve the situation which is ridiculous for such a large company. I have to say the experience has left me very wary of moving broadband providers again in the future.

I received my final refund a few weeks ago but expected Pipex to try and claim money from my account yet again. They have not attempted to take any payments from my account, which is great.

They have not once written, telephoned or emailed to actually confirm they have closed my account.

They have also not in anyway attempted to apologise for the horrendous lack of customer service provided to myself, and many others.

If you are looking for a broadband provider, avoid Pipex Broadband at all costs. Believe me the “Hoff” will soon turn into a “Huff” with Pipex and its terrible customer services and accounts departments.

My current broadband provider is bethere.co.uk who provide up to 24mb broadband for £25 a month. The service so far has been both fast and excellent quality. Recommended

Has appeared in my bank account. It looks like it may be the difference they owe me from when I left them way back in July! It’s only taken over 3 months for them to sort it out. I have not received any notification from the Pipex people at all to explain this cash refund.

I hope this may be the final chapter in a very ridiculous situation of a large company not being able to keep it’s affairs in order. I have now been with my new broadband provider (bethere) for 3 months and I am extremely pleased and satisfied with both the internet connection and speed (up to 24Mb)

They have very little downtime and that has only been for essential maintenance work. They always provide you with notification of impending downtime and the reason it is necessary. I have no hesitation recommending anyone to try them. If you have any trouble with this company, I would be very surprised and you will be in a very small minority.

Pricing is good as well with costs running at £28 monthly for me. That is with a static ip address and 24Mb broasdband. You do not get email with them unless you pay a little extra.

Anyway I have my £10.94 from Pipex and hope I never hear from them again.

Pipex must have forgotten me October 11, 2006

A quick update in the Pipex fiasco. I managed to get my bank to block any withdrawals by Pipex broadband. They still took the money from my account but the bank immediately took it back from them. Ha!

They have sent me no correspondence for weeks now and they still owe me a refund of approximately £20. It remains to be seen if they will ever actually manage to resolve this mess. They are the most unprofessional disorganised company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with.

If you are considering moving to Pipex broadband, in fact anything to do with Pipex, I would strongly advise against it. There are better deals available from companies giving far better customer service to the public.

Don’t do it! I learned the hard way and wish to save you the aggravation.
