Do High Petrol Prices Mean the Horse & Cart May Make A Comeback June 6, 2008

I was looking for some public domain images today and came across some World War II posters. Most were quite entertaining to read (Although at the time they were taken very seriously), and made me glad that we are not suffering food shortages and rationing. Not yet anyway.

The poster below made me wonder if we will end up like this again with the price of petrol the way it is. Here in the UK, petrol is currently £1.18 a litre ($2.32) and it is madness. In the USA it is only about $4 a gallon which seems a little unfair on the British really.

Maybe we are destined to go back to the horse and cart, at least carrots and hay are still affordable.
